New York, NY (PRWEB) June 20, 2011
In June of 2011, that city so nice it had to be named twice, proudly welcomes Zack Glass’ latest endeavor, “Southern Skies.” “This is real music - music that comes from the heart and performed honestly and with passion,” says Christie Free of BreedCast.com. “Zack’s vocals and layers of instruments combine to create something both new and comfortably familiar. This is a genuine return to roots accomplishment.” Recorded in studios located from Brazil to New York to Connecticut, produced by Mick Rossi and mastered by Scott Hull, “Southern Skies” launches from Zack’s hometown of New York City. June movie-goers across the country have enjoyed a preview of Zack’s single “On My Side” as it was chosen by Landmark Theaters to be featured in their Pre-Movie Program.
Zack has performed with some of today's up and coming stars; Vampire Weekend, The National and Jazz Trumpeter Mark Rapp. He has also had the honor to share the stage with some of this century’s greatest musicians; Steve Earle, Keb’ Mo’, Patti Smith, Suzanne Vega, Al MacDowell, Andrew Sterman and Eddie Bobe.

Growing up in New York’s Lower East Side, by the time Zack turned 13, he had taken up piano and electric guitar and was beginning to write his own songs. Listening to classic rock and punk music at a young age, his taste changed when he started going through his parents' record collection and discovered an array of music including Reggae and African. After high school Zack had the opportunity to travel to West Africa and Latin America several times which greatly influenced his music. Zack has returned to the blues based music he grew up on, having explored almost every style of popular music, influenced most recently by folk, country and classic rhythm and blues.
“Zack Glass’ new CD is a welcome alternative to the assembly-line pop we've heard much too often. Mr. Glass offers very nice, textured, honest music that I recommend for the more discerning listener.” Slim Uke of Altar Call Records
